On this Module 'Being a Marketing Manager' you will learn and practice the management, interpersonal and technical skills required to be a successful marketing manager in both global businesses and small and medium sized organizations. 

This Module will help you to:

  • Understand the coordination and leadership skills of being a marketing manager, in a pivotal role in a business in the 21st Century post Pandemic
  • Learn the current practices in business for deploying all marketing disciplines and the tools for the integrated marketing mix 
  • Reflect on which of your skills match those of a marketing manager, to learn how to build on your strengths and learn new skills
  • Learn new techniques in fast changing competitive markets, to develop growth for new and existing businesses
  • Engage with the St Mary's Employability Services, to prepare you for Work Placements, Internships and Graduate Training programmes in marketing departments in large companies.

You will review how to develop marketing and communications strategies and the methods in the marketing mix, so that you can focus on the skills that are natural to you as person, and which you can apply when working as a Marketing Manager.

This Module will include Lectures, Seminars and Tutorials, providing you with skills in both marketing, communications, public relations, market research, customer insight, and social media marketing which you will be able to use in work placements, then from Graduation and through your Career.

International Criminal Law studies the intersection between international criminal procedure, human rights law and humanitarian law and how they inform each other. The history of international criminal tribunals will be examined ion detail and the module is going to analyse the Rome Statute, the ICTY Statute and the ICTR Statute and the rules of procedure and evidence underpinning them.

In addition, key legal principles such as complementarity, universality, equality of arms, the right to a fair trial and other related principles will be examined. 

The module will also study in depth the Geneva Conventions 1949 applicable to armed conflict and the two Additional Protocols of 1977. The module also extensively analyses what is defined as a war crime, a crime against humanity, a crime of aggression and genocide. 

To this end, key cases that have significantly influenced the development of wartime sexual jurisprudence will be studied in detail. 

The rights of victims and victim participation will also be examined, as well as state immunity from prosecution.
